Research institutes

The Royal Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture’s research activities are closely linked to the School’s various institutes. Each institute ranges across a wide architectural scale, however, each one of them hoasts its own methodical approach.

The institutes handle research and development related activities within their specific fields, and they are also in charge of the mandatory courses offered in the school’s bachelor programme.

The institutes’ academic structure partially reflects the more long-term course and in-class instruction related assignments, which cover the institutes’ permanent fields and single courses, and partially the relevant strategic focus areas, which are primarily externally financed, and managed by each institute’s own centre.
