Programme structure

The architect programme is a five-year programme, comprising a three-year Bachelor programme (undergraduate) followed by a two-year Master’s (graduate) programme. The Bachelor programme is laid out as an independently completed programme, which seeks to instill in students fundamental skills and knowledge in the field of architecture. By proceeding to the Master’s programme, students will gain academic independence, in-depth knowledge, and the ability to apply a methodical approach – from a professional as well as academic perspective, as an architect.

The programme is laid out in a way that lets each of the nine Departments offer students a complete Bachelor programme. The 3rd study year, however, is characterised by each Department’s individual approach and priorities vis-à-vis the profession’s key areas.

In the Master’s programme, however, each Department’s individual approach and priorities constitute the Department’s own emphasis on the architectural study. Thus, the Departments generally offer their students the opportunity to specialise within the three following key areas: planning, building design, and design.
