How to apply
To apply for the Master's Programmes in English at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, please follow these two steps:
Step 1:
Fill in the digital application form (link available from 1 January 2013)
Step 2:
Print the digital application form. Send the following enclosures by postal mail for the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture (deadline 1 March 2013):
- Printed application form
- Verified copy of your Bachelor’s diploma or three years completed studies
- Portfolio presenting your preceding Bachelor course of study
- Motivation for studying at RASA
- Curriculum vitae
- Copy of your passport
- Language test of English Proficiency
Step 2, enclosures:
Verified copy of your Bachelor’s diploma or a transcript of records from three years of completed studies
Your portfolio should not exceed A3-format, and must be easy to ship by mail, store and review. Faxes, e-mails and digital documentation will not be accepted. The portfolio should present your preceding Bachelor course of study (divided by study year), including project assignments. It should be a broad and nuanced illustration of your level in terms of architectural design, theoretical foundation, working method and presentation skills. The portfolio will not be returned back after the application process is finished. Please note that the School will not be hold responsible for storing portfolios after the application deadline has expired.
Language test requirements
Verification of English proficiency: Minimum requirements: TOEFL paper based - 550, TOEFL internet based - 80, IELTS - 6.0, Cambridge Exams - C1. Language tests are not required for Scandinavian students if they have English on B-level or the equivalent from qualifying exam (documentation required). Students who have earned their full Bachelor’s degree in English are also exempted (documentation required).
Target group
Students with a Bachelor’s degree (or three years of studies) from a state-recognised Danish or foreign school of architecture may apply for admission. Foreign students are eligible for admission if their qualifications are assessed as being comparable to the Danish entrance qualifications. Due to a limited number of student places we are not admitting applicants who hold a Master’s degree in architecture.
MA Programmes
You may apply for two different Master's programmes:
a) Architecture in Urban Context
b) Design in Architectural Contexts
c) Architecture, Process and Project Development
The three MA programmes respectively can accommodate approximately 10 foreign students. There is an intense competion between international students to get admitted into these programmes. The School's Admission Board reviews the application materials of all applicants and is required to arrange the applications in order of priority as attendance is limited.
