Visiting Students

You can apply in 2 ways for studying 1 or 2 semesters at The School of Architecture in Copenhagen

  • as an exchange student which is for students whose home school of architecture has an exchange agreement with our school, i.e. Erasmus.
  • as a visiting student which is for students whose home school of architecture does not have an exchange agreement with us. The following information is for students who are eligible to apply as visiting students.

Like exchange students visiting students are 'non-degree' students, which mean that they cannot present themselves for an academic degree or a diploma. Your studies with us must be part of your study plan at your home institution, which means that credits gained at our School of Architecture must be transferable to your school of architecture.

The following applicants will be considered:
Students with a Bachelor’s degree (or the equivalent), enrolled in the Master's programme of an internationally recognized school of architecture outside Scandinavia, which does not have an exchange agreement with the The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation - School of Architecture.

Students from Scandinavia, whose mother tongue is a Scandinavian language, apply on the same terms as Danish students and are required to use the Danish application form.

You can apply for 1 or 2 semesters. Each semester is credited 30 ECTS-points, and you can earn max. 60 ECTS-points (= 2 semesters) while studying here.
Studies are conducted in one of 10 study departments in the Master's programme (usually with the 4th year students). When applying you are asked to choose a study department. Please search our website for information regarding each department.

The application must contain a complete application form and the following enclosures in English:
