
Board
The Board is the highest management of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation and holds responsibility for promoting the institution's work and handling the institution's interests as an artistic educational and research institution. The Board is responsible to the Minister of Culture for the overall management of the institution and for the provisions that are established for the institution's activities. On recommendation from Rector, the Board establishes guidelines for the institution's organisation, long-term activities and development. The Board hires and dismisses Rector.
The Board's composition is to reflect all of the institution's tasks. Therefore, the entire Board must have insight into education, research, artistic development work, knowledge dissemination, management, organisation, finances and the job functions and professions that graduation from the institution is aimed at.
The Board has seven external members (six members appointed by the Minister of Culture and one member appointed by the Danish Arts Council) as well as six internal members elected at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation: three academic staff representatives (one academic employee each from the School of Architecture, the School of Design and the School of Conservation), one representative from the joint technical/administrative staff and two students' representatives. The Board's Chairman and Deputy Chairman will be appointed by the Minister of Culture.
The Board's first meeting will take place 15. August 2011.
