Tektonik og konstruktion

Applied Building Technology
The aim of this subject area is to explore define and communicate current as well as historical concepts and methods concerning building technology for use in the architectural education or the industry. The research focuses especially on current topics such as the adaptation of architecture to climatic conditions, energy and resources, and the methods, processes and products of the building industry.

Structure
The field deals with the development of knowledge, the appreciation of load-bearing structures and the compilation of experiences concerning their application in the architectural process. The architectural development is based partly on the transformation of technical scientific knowledge in relation to challenges posed by the architectural development of the borderland between the architectural and the technical scientific.
The research focuses especially on current topics, such as the adaptation of architecture to climatic conditions, energy and resources, and the methods, processes and products of the building industry.

Materials
This subject area develops and facilitates the appreciation of the aesthetic potential and textural value of materials, their role in the technological functions, and their implications for the indoor climate and sustainability of the building. Materials in Architecture are perceived as parts of load bearing structures and reflecting surfaces for light and sound. Accordingly research within materials is often integrated in these fields as well.
